Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life

Pablo Picasso definitely knows what he's talking about.  My art classes are the only escape from my hectic life.  With graduation, grad school and even "real" life coming up, these upcoming hurdles are really keeping me busy.  I don't know if its just my creative juices flowing when I paint a landscape or draw a figure, but this calm comes over me and I literally forget the world.  Art isn't just a pretty picture hanging on the wall of a museum.  Art is anything anyone wants whatever to be.  I believe that no matter how "talented" or "artistic" you are you should take a break from whatever the hell is consuming your life and doodle a picture, paint that tree you always see from that window, and if you don't have a tree in your window, well, do something. This is your task for the week.  Relax and listen to Picasso.

  1. I completely agree. I am the same way. When I get on my computer and start making something on photoshop I lose track of time and space. Hours go by before I even realize it. There is nothing more relaxing to me. I don't think it is limited to just art though. I think everyone has something that takes them to that place whether it is art, exercise, nature or anything. Once a person finds it and takes advantage of it it can be a powerful tool.
